“Death and the Maiden”
October 2-4, 2026
We open our season with one of the cornerstones of the quartet literature. Facing his own mortality, Schubert wrote a work of turmoil, defiance, beauty, and acceptance. We'll also perform works by our friends, The Danish String Quartet.
“The Arc of Innovation”
December 4-6, 2026
This program features three inventive composers, moving from Joseph Haydn’s Op. 77, No. 2 to Caroline Shaw’s Entr’acte, and finally to Amy Beach’s String Quartet in One Movement.
“CSP and Friends”
February 5-7, 2027
We’re joined by CCM faculty violist Brian Hong for Mozart’s electrifying G minor Quintet, and by baritone Ethan Neal for Samuel Barber’s haunting “Dover Beach”.
“Tradition and Transformation”
April 2-4, 2027
Our season finale features three works that blend tradition and innovation: quartets by Brahms and Brian Nabors, and a world premiere from our own Mable Lecrone!
CCAC Fundraising Concert
The Cincinnati String Project presents a special fundraising concert for their free music education program in Title I schools. Join us for an evening of chamber music ranging from classical to folk to pop.
OLLI Very Open Rehearsal
Ever wonder how musicians work together without a conductor? Cincinnati String Project will perform some short pieces for string quartet and then rehearse one—with your involvement! Musicians’ work involves lots of questioning and discussion, and you will be part of both! As they rehearse, they'll share their different viewpoints about the piece and what the composer is trying to tell us. They'll share insights about how they work together and why the democracy of a chamber music group is the perfect way to teach their students collaborative skills.

CSP Quartet: Tradition and Transformation
Our season finale features a string quartet by Brian Nabors. Written in 2024 as part of the Resonate project, the piece explores the full range of colors a string quartet can produce. Also on the program is Brahms's bright, joyful String Quartet No. 3 in B-flat major. And we're especially excited to close the season with a world premiere from our own Mable Lecrone!
